Due to the twatwaffleish actions of Nick Denton, all Oppos wishing to eject themselves from the Kinjaverse can safely converse with other Oppos on our Facebook page, Oppositetalk.

Yeah because Facebook is so much more on the up and up.

Twatwaffleish? Nick denton is a Twatwaffle and always has been, even before this particular kerfuffle

Facebook is still better than Gawker. If you don’t like either, time to go over to R Saldana’s post and show support for a crowd funded forum system.

I am woefully ignorant here. What happened?
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:39 |

Facebook would never do anything unsavory right?

Dick Denton decided to blackmail a noted internet figure, simply for being bisexual.

Fair enough.

Like I said, still better than Gawker. If you don’t like it, you can wander over to R Saldana’s post and show support for a forum system.

TBH, I really just wanted to use the words twatwaffle and kerfuffle in the same sentence, but my point still stands
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:40 |

Why not Reddit?
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:41 |

FB is blocked at work though. Bummer.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:41 |

......what? I am still not following. Or maybe my ignorance is bliss.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:41 |

I might just sign up for Reddit, although I find its format difficult to follow.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:41 |

He didn’t actually do that. Gawker just reported it.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:42 |

I guess I don't completely get it. Can you explain it to me?
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:43 |

This is why we need to fund a forum that is operated by R Saldana.

I’m fine with Gawker same old shit they’ve always done. Plus this guy they “outed” was actually trying to cheat on his wife with a prostitute so I’m not sure why he gets so much sympathy.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:43 |

Didn’t think he was an internet figure so much as the relative to a government official and executive at a publicly traded company.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:44 |

You're right, my mistake.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:47 |

Joining Reddit because Gawker is run by a few morally corrupt people?
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:47 |

So Dude Guy tries to hook up with the prostitute. Prostitute figures out who he is and trys to get him to use his influence. Dude guy bails on prostitute and he goes to Gawker who reports the thing.
This is supposedly “outing” this guy for trying to cheat on his wife with some gay pornstar.
Why are we so concerned for Dude Guy? I don’t have a clue. Maybe because he’s gay/bi? I feel like is Dude Guy was hooking up with a lady no one would be so concerned.

Just seems silly to blow up an otherwise nice community due to the actions of some dbag on a different page. Just use oppo like this... :)
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:49 |
|
Fair enough. Maybe this will help Oppo to become the small, close-knit community it used to be.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:49 |

Fair enough.

Meh, people come people go. Oppo is fluid. Oppo will survive.

Gawker Media just assisted in the blackmailing scheme of a for-hire escort, and in the process of doing so also ruined the lives of a husband, mother, and three children. This story has no public interest except to generate page views and ad revenue.

Aka Gawker’s M.O.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:56 |

Yeah pretty much.
Gawker: Telling everyone we take the moral high-ground until there’s clicks to be had
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:58 |

Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on??
![]() 07/17/2015 at 12:59 |

Is, was, and always will be.

I'll start my own site, with blackjack, and hookers.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 13:09 |

At this point, I don't even know exactly what kind of fustercluck we are caught up in.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 13:16 |

I have to recognize the irony.
![]() 07/17/2015 at 13:45 |

We don’t actually know he was cheating in a secretive way. His wife may have known and been complicit. It wouldn’t be the first time a couple was together for reasons other than love.
In the end, Gawker made a post about someone’s personal life that was no body’s business and possibly committed a crime in the process.

The first part is a good point.

I couldn’t resist.
